What do entry level jobs at Protomet look like?
Assembly team members build Protomet products by following work instructions, using hand/power tools, and completing basic quality checks so each part is built right and ready to ship. Attention to detail and steady pace matter more than experience.
CNC Machining team members run production parts by loading material, starting cycles, and checking parts to ensure quality and consistency. You’ll follow work instructions, keep the area organized, and flag issues quickly to keep machines running smoothly.
Welding team members TIG weld aluminum parts by following work instructions, maintaining clean fit-up, and producing strong, consistent welds. You’ll check work for quality, keep your station organized, and flag issues quickly to keep production moving.
Powder Coat team members prep parts, hang and mask components, apply powder, and verify coverage and finish quality so parts meet Protomet standards. Consistency, clean work, and a painter’s skill and care matter.
Fabrication team members make parts by running equipment like CNC tube bending and tube laser, plus cutting, drilling, and prep work. You’ll follow work instructions, verify parts meet specs, and keep machines and your area running clean and efficient.
Wire Harness team members build and test electrical harnesses by cutting, stripping, crimping, and assembling wires to spec. You’ll follow work instructions, complete basic quality checks, and keep your station organized so each harness is reliable and ready to install.
Metal Finishing team members support anodizing and bead blasting by prepping and racking parts, following process steps, and checking quality so parts meet appearance and durability standards. Safety and attention to detail are key.

At Protomet, it’s a team thing. As has been said, “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We know where we’re headed, we call it “perennial growth”. Think of it like the growth a steadfast oak tree. It may not grow fast like a weed, yet it grows steady, tall, and true. Long term, our employees reap the benefits of advanced learning, competitive incentives, and the pride of being on the best team in town.
Protomet embraces automation, but humans aren’t something to automate. We foster creativity and growth in our people, helping them become the best they can be. We offer a Chaplain service for spiritual growth, fitness facilities for physical growth, and plenty of community building events to ensure that we are growing as a team. We continue to grow fast as a company, spurring on a constant array of growth opportunities for those who seek new adventures.
No one makes it like America - we still believe that and we are paving the way forward with a combination of automated equipment and a highly skilled workforce. We blend the line between artisan and industry, making products with extreme precision that still need a thoughtful set of hands to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Growth at Protomet can look freeform or can follow a designed script. Hourly personnel follow a “levels” track wherein you advance as you gain skills and prove you have an attitude that reflects our core values. Various training opportunities are always on the horizon for individuals who desire to learn, and new capabilities are constantly forthcoming as we take on new capabilities as a company. Furthermore, employees have the opportunity to engage in our Technical Apprenticeship Program.
